HSBC Knox Building, New York

HSBC Knox Building, New York, New York USA

Overview | Scope of Work

The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is protected by the New York Landmark Preservation Commission.  The Beaux-Arts style building was constructed in 1902 and the building remains largely as originally designed.  The façade is comprised of rusticated limestone, steel windows, cornices, iron railings and architectural filigree.  The ground floor features steel and glass window and the entrance is protected by an ornate steel and glass canopy.

In concert with the architect we detailed the remediation and reinstallation of steel windows, flashings, bolstering of steel iron railings and filigree, updated waterproofing details and integrated details of the mansard metal roof.  All work was within the parameters of the Landmark Commission.  We reviewed façade and waterproofing submittals and supervised field testing for compliance with the specifications.
